Medical Assistant Specialty Clinic
Position Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Crittenden Community Hospital

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant (MA) supports medical staff and patients in the specialty clinic setting by performing both clinical and clerical tasks as assigned. They assist with patient care, help to manage medical records, and ensure the smooth operation of the specialty clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
•Take and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight).
•Assist with patient examinations and procedures, preparing the patient and equipment.
•Administer medications as directed by the physician.
•Ensure patient comfort during exams, treatments, and procedures.
•Assist with minor or medical procedures as directed by the healthcare provider.
Clerical Duties:
•Assist with Scheduling patient appointments
•Greet and check in patients, helping to update personal and medical information.
•Assist in Answering phones, respond to patient inquiries, and provide information as appropriate.
•Maintain and update patient records in compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA).
•Help to perform general office duties such as faxing, filing, and data entry.
Skills and Qualifications:
•Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a Medical Assistant program (preferred).
•Certification: Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or similar) preferred.
•Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting is advantageous but not always required.
•Skills:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced
environment.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, office equipment, and
electronic health record (EHR) systems.
* Basic understanding of medical procedures and patient
care techniques.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
•Capable of lifting and moving up to 25 pounds.
•Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, such as taking blood samples or assisting in minor surgeries.
Work Environment:
•Medical Assistants work in healthcare facilities, including clinics, outpatient centers, hospitals, and private practices. They typically work in a team with other healthcare professionals and must adhere to health and safety protocols.
