Refill Coordinator/Surgery Clinic Assistant
Crittenden Community Hospital is looking to hire a Full-time Refill Coordinator/Surgery Clinic Assistant to work in the Family Practice Clinic. Competitive Salary and benefit package available.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for processing refill requests, medication prior authorizations and patient assistance program paperwork for Family Practice Clinic patients as directed by the Providers. Provide Surgical clinic support, including scheduling clinic visits, coordinating with the surgery scheduler, assembling patient packets, and performing medical assistant duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Process refill requests for Family Practice Clinic—primarily via electronic means. Works as an agent of the providers at their individual instruction/protocol. Communicates with retail pharmacies to coordinate timely refills of medications. Makes necessary entries in patients’ electronic record to accurately log actions.
2.Respond to and process prior authorizations requests from pharmacies and patients. Notify patients and/or pharmacy of approvals or denials and scan notifications into patient’s electronic record.
3.Seek Patient assistance programs from manufactures as needed, communicate with patients the availability of the programs and obtain consent to initiate requests. Work with the providers to submit all necessary requirements to the programs and notify patient of the outcome. Submit all documentation to keep patient enrolled in the program and re-order medications as needed.
4.Schedule and confirm referrals to the surgical clinic and follow-up appointments, work with surgery scheduler for surgical procedures and assembly patient packets for the surgeon. Add surgical clinic charges as appropriate. Function as a MA in the surgical clinic as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Performs all other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Computer skills.
2.Knowledge of medical terminology.
3.High school diploma or equivalent.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted, climate controlled and locked department.
